Maria Coutris, Master Stylist
Maria has been a master stylist since 1986, and she has studied with Vidal Sassoon in Chicago, where precision cutting is taught as a craft. Cuts, color, perms, updos, treatments and facial waxing have all passed through her hands in that time, on every kind of hair and for clients of every age. In 2019, she opened her own private suite in downtown Sarasota, inside Salons by JC, and that is where you will find her today.
She works alone by design. There is no assistant rinsing you at the bowl and no junior stylist finishing your blow-dry. The person you talk to during the consultation is the person who does the work, start to finish.

Clean, high-performance beauty is the standard here. Hair care is Eufora, a plant-based, vegan professional line that this salon carries exclusively in Sarasota. Skin care is Kalahari Rose. Both are used in the suite and sold for home; the full list is under Services below.
The Suite
The suite is a private room, not a chair on an open floor. The door closes, and a partner or a parent can sit in. It is a quiet, relaxing space where the appointment moves at your pace rather than the salon’s.
